ince this is my longest blogging break to date and I've noticed a recent surge in visitors I thought I should drop in to say that I'm alive and well! The first few weeks after we landed I took a much needed break from my camera, but now I'm refreshed and will have much to share soon. In the meantime I've been relaxing with my family, catching up on reading, making big plans for the upcoming year, and drinking too much wine. I've also been mentoring some talented photographers from around the world, including Oklahoma City photographer Jamie Dunnington, Tulsa photographer Amy Herndon, Seattle photographer Jen Orbistondo, Minneapolis photographer Katie Welsh, Michelle from the UK whose link I will post as soon as her gorgeous new website is launched, and Joanne from Boston who does not have a website but rather a desire to take better pictures of her beautiful children (how awesome is that). I love helping others learn this craft, and it's one of the things I look forward to in the winter when my shooting schedule slows down. More to come... in the meantime click on the image below to join us on facebook!

I
want to wish all of my blog readers near and far a happy, peaceful and prosperous new year. I'm so excited for all that 2010 will bring! I have big plans including a new website, destination sessions and special portrait rates for professional photographers. For now I want to share some images of my beautiful niece from this past summer. I had completely forgotten about these until it was time to design her holiday card! It's fun to rediscover favorites this time of year when I'm organizing files and clearing things up for the new calendar.

ue to the number of teaching requests I receive I'll be planning a small number of consultations for photographers during the winter months. If you're interested please contact me for information and to be added to the schedule. And since it's been so cold outside I want to post a flashback to one of the many beach sessions I never got a chance to share this past season. I adore this little guy! When I look at this image I think about how lucky he'll be one day to have a photograph of his young parents looking at his baby self with so much joy.
